October has been busy at Winlaw Elementary. Early in the month we were joined by the Winlaw Fire Hall members for our second fire drill of the year. after the drill students listened to a presentation from the members and were able to tour the fire trucks. Many of the students are looking forward to becoming volunteer firefighters when they are of age.
Our oldest and youngest students at Winlaw Elementary teamed up to plant some trees in our forest. It was great to see the older students be such positive role models and help their younger peers out.
Winlaw Elementary had three students selected to have their artwork be apart of the Kootenay Savings 2026 Calendar.  What an amazing feat to have 3 students from Winlaw selected out of the 1400+ entries. The theme this year is "The Path Ahead". Congratulations to Natesa Bryers, Asher Snyder and Rowan Fick.
